This week really started with the weekend when the CORE Training Team traveled to Atlanta for the Abilities Expo where we were educated on the latest products and services for persons with disabilities. We also were fortunate to meet a lot of great new people.
After a great weekend making connections in the ATL, Monday morning CORE welcomed our newest Exercise Physiologist to the team, Paul Rodenbeck. Everyone say “HI!” to Paul…
Also on Monday morning, CORE was visited by Marni Jameson, a staff writer for the Orlando Sentinel. She, along with photographer George Skene, interviewed some of the clients and staff at CORE. We all were grateful for her interest in our program and were looking forward to seeing the article in the Health Section. However, we were surprised on the morning of our Grand Opening to discover CORE made the FRONT PAGE of Orlando’s biggest newspaper! Check. It. Out…
If you haven’t seen the article yet, it’s definitely worth the read. You can find it here: http://www.orlandosentinel.com/health/os-spinal-cord-injury-orlando-20120222,0,4364559.story
Be sure to share it with a friend!
As I mentioned, this all happened the day of our Grand Opening… which was a complete success! Our “visionary” (direct quote from the Orlando Sentinel!) leader Mr. Matthew Davies gave a heart warming welcome to the crowd gathered. The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony that followed, led by Seminole County Chamber of Commerce Chair Andrea Herr and CORE Founder Melodie Patton, officially opened the our doors to the public. It was a great night, with 100+ in attendance, learning about our innovative program, meeting our dedicated staff and incredible clients, discovering the CORE Foundation, checking out all of CORE’s cutting edge equipment and even hopping on the Hypergravity Vibe Plate!
On behalf of the entire CORE Team, we would just like to say thank you to everyone who came out to support us last night and to everyone who couldn’t attend, but supported us in spirit. We appreciate you all and look forward to a future filled with recovery, health, hope and independence for all survivors of any type of neurological injury or condition.
